Default Which trans cooler with fan

I have been thinking about running two smaller transmission coolers. I already have a B&M(I think it is a 24k) It is one of the smaller coolers. I was given a smaller hayden cooler. I thought about running both of these, but they don't have an fittings. I am going to run new cooler lines with an fittings.

I am thinking now that I would rather get one big cooler with a fan that has an fittings to connect to my new cooler lines.

What big cooler do I need to get that will cool as good or better as the two smaller coolers together(B&M and Hayden together). I want to make sure that I can connect AN fittings to it.

I would like to get one that I know I will have room to mount in the front.

Thanks,

Brent

I am thinking about a permacool 10.5X14 inch with the 900 cfm fan. There is one with a dual circuit fan.................Don't know what that means for me. Do I need the dual circuit fan?

I run a Perma Cool with a 900 cfm fan on it. I am not sure what the dual circuit fan means. You might want to call Perma Cool and ask them.

Do you have a thermostat that you set on yours? How does it perform?

Also where did you mount it?

thank you

If you have a 160 T-stat and a B&M 24k plate type cooler, you have plenty of cooling for most situations. What are your trans temps running?

I have never had a gauge in the car. I have one now, it is just not installed as of right now.

The reason I am paying so much attention to this is last summer in MS. It went for almost a month where the temp was at least 100 degrees outside. It would be 90 when we would race at 10:30 at night.

I know this would be overkill for most times of the year, but for summer in MS I think I need more than just the 24k B&M. I drive my car over half of the time to work, in some slow moving traffic.

I have a thermostat. I mounted mine on the passenger side in front of the a/c condensor. It performs flawlessly.

I'm currently running two coolers one which is Flexalite 4190 that has a fan on it. I'm only running two coolers because the car already had one and I figured it wouldn't hurt to run both. In Houston heat and traffic I think the highest temps I've seen the tranny reach are 180-185. I'm using a derale inline thermostat to turn the fan on and off. I also bypassed the factory cooler and run the trans lines directly to the coolers.

Some of the coolers I think I saw while looking for a cooler with fan had a built in sensor to activate the fan when the oil reaches certain temperatures.
