Default 4l60E tail housing broke.. normal????

So got my car all tuned in the other day... then that night we were testing it out and about 120 MPH the car shifted gears from 3rd - 4thOD.
BAM.... rips the tail housing into 2 pieces...

some pics here, and a few attached here.

but to any of you professionals... we kind of pegged this breakage to the torque arm yanking and twisting, since this is the place the t arm hooks up.

is this a normal type, not that it would be normal, but common when putting down torque??? or horsepower??? or combo....

just looking into info so I can keep from doing this again...
Got lucky this time and we got a new tail housing for 25 dollars....
and then the fluid was 15... so got very lucky that a tranny breakage only costed around 50 bucks.....

Yep that can happen at high speeds Ira. You need to have your driveshaft balnced, be sure to check the pinion angle if you have an aftermarket Torque Arm and inspec tthe trans mount as well.

Poly mounts can cause this.

So high speeds huh...
Gilbert would you say this is more at high speeds, or should I be worrying about it at low speeds also....

Like on the launch for the track....

They don't tend to break on the hit.

The keys there are proper driveshft length, pinion angle and no poly mount!
