I voted for the Yank although I know that the Vig' was my next choice. The SS has very high efficiency however I've never really read a true horsepower rating from Yank (at least that I've found.) What I mean is PI rates all their converters to like 1100 horse or something like that. I'm not sure if Yank has a system like that but know that you can upgrade your existing Yank converter to higher horsepower applications, so no big deal.
I love my SS3800. Shift extension is 5300-5400. 1.6X 60's. Mid-12 1320s on manifolds, lid, catback, and tranny tune. Street mannors are excellent. I'll be upgrading to a higher stall and maybe go PT the next go-around since the car's not a DD anymore.
I don't think you can go wrong with EITHER company you mentioned
