Tranny slipping
Tranny slipping I don't know if this is a mechanical failure or some other issue. I left the house for a short cruise and after a mile or so, it felt like the tranny started slipping. I stopped on the shoulder when it quit pulling and the car wouldn't move forward or reverse. After putting it in park and shutting the car off, it pulled fine after the restart for about the same mile and then started slipping again. I got the car home just pulling over and killing the engine whenever the slipping started. The car actually ran funny, idled high and a little rough since this started. I don't see how this can be a mechanical failure since it pulls normal after the restart. Any ideas?
It should not cause the no movement but could cause the idle issues but the drive a little then stop means your filter is clogged and that you have a trans failure

If the Vacuum Line comes off then the Line pressure will go to a Maximum. That could impart harsh part throttle shifts depending on the condition of the unit and the stall speed and gearing. But it will not cause the symptoms you described. Maybe a rough and high idle though.
How old is you Torque Converter?
And, the last time you drove the car, how did you drive it?
I would say you need to take a look at the fluid condition. Take the pan off an take a look around.

I ran it hard earlier today, but it ran fine. These issues started this evening on a short drive. I was only a mile or so from home when it started. So the drive a while and then stop is a dead give away for failure or are there other possibilities? This is a built 4L60e, but the shop that built it has already had to pull and fix one problem in the past due to 4th gear failure. If either of you will tear down, inspect and replace what is needed, shoot me a PM. I want a warrantied unit, but alot of the major components have been upgraded and should be fine. Thanks for the help.
