whoa, this is an old one.

Yeah, those were the sizes we used when we did mine. Unfortunately, the pump in that transmission died after only a few thousand miles and I replaced the whole transmission. The shifts will be awful harsh with the 3 washers in the 2nd gear accumulator even with the loose converter. I would use 1 washer at most if it was me. I wouldn't mess with line pressure in the trans calibration if you ever have any kind of tuning done now that the shift kit is installed. I'm thinking that excessive line pressure was the cause of my premature pump failure.

I have the #3 washer setup with a billet 2-4 servo, running a Y3000 2.0 STR with 3.73's in my 01 Z28. LIFE IS GOOD

I purchased it through the transmission shop that did the TC install ($125), it was made by Superior, and "Summit Racing" also sells one.

No, it comes with 3 washers and you have the option when you assemble the 1-2 accumulator assembly to decide how many to stick in there.

Since the 1-2 shift isn't really the problem for the 4L60-E, I'd recommend only 1-2 washers for most high stalled applications and 1 for tight converters. It is in large part a preference thing but bad things can happen if you get it shifting too hard.

The 2-3 and 3-4 shifts are the real problem and the 1-2 accumulator has no effect on them.

Default Ordering this weekend

I am ordering a Trans Go shift kit this weekend, just wondering how many washers you would use on the stock tranny. Thanx in advance.

If a professional shop does the install, and goes by the instructions, you should tell them in advance if you do not want the #3 washer setup.

In the instructions it says with higher stall converters use #3 washer. I have that and the shift isn't that harsh at all. Very civilized.
