Default 1996 4L80E question

I am looking at a 96' 4L80E. I've heard and read in searches here on the site that there are some minor mods that need to be done to it. The tranny is going behind a 6.0L and going into a mustang.. I just need info on the 4L80E fitting to the 6.0L, fitting the tranny to the car is a whole nother story.

Should bolt right up using the stock 6.0 flexplate and spacer. Only thing missing will be a place for the top bellhousing bolt on the trans.

I put a 96 4l80e behind my 5.3L I had to run a flexplate spacer and a 6.0 flexplate. Your also going to run into a problem with the neutral safety switch. I still havent put mine on yet

i'm not real concerned about the nuetral safety switch. I do plan on finding a auto shifter out of a camaro/firebird to use. I heard the linkage on the trans is different for the 4l60 but will adapt to the 4l80

well, i picked up my 4L80 last night. Took some pics maybe someone can shead some light on what year range it may be. The guy said it came from a 96 2500 truck but it's a GM re-man.

What ever it says in the bottom left of that green tag is the year. Looks like it says 94 but it's hard to see.

yep, it says 94-124 on the bottom left of the tag. Atleast now i know what year to order parts for. Any particular weakness in the 94 trans?
