Can running A4 to 6700-6800 rpms during dyno tuning heat my clutches and cause them to slip badly? TC was locked during dyno tuning. I have a MW 3000 TC with 2.1 stator installed for over year w/o any probs.
Yes. I fried my 2-3 clutch packs after heavy dyno tuning on one of my F-bodies last year. Granted, the clutches were probably worn pretty well, but the dyno abuse took a heavy toll.

Kevin, from a dead stop, (stop light example under normal driving) the rpms are higher than what they use to be, even with my MW 3000 TC and I have to soft shoe or let up a little to let the trans shift to the next higher gear otherwise it will struggle, rev higher until is shifts. From a 30-40 mph acceleration (same example under normal drving) the rpms are higher and motor sounds are louder. From both examples, if I 1/2 throttle the gas the motor revs high and the shifting sounds like its struggling to shift and takes longer to shift, sounds like its slipping. If i pamper the shifts, it will shift, but sounds ugly like is slipping.
Patrick, I was told the rwtq was 400 even, after the speed shop did the LSIedit during the dyno tune and mods installation by the speed shop, the tq is not shown on the dyno sheet.
My troubles were not immediate, but after 250 miles or so, I noticed the tranny struggling to shift and just continued to get worst.
Thats why I was asking, could a dyno tune performing LS1 edit heat my cluthes or not line pressure to cause extra friction and do a slow death to my tranny.

The chassis dyno is very hard on a trans, so, I agree with Patrick. The trans may not show signs of the abuse at first, but after some more full thottle passes on the street it may have been all the trans could take. Is the trans built? How many miles are on the trans?
