Tranny free spun today while driving...
4 month old FLP IV. Fluid is full, nothing ever got hot, nothing is leaking, motor is fine.
When I turn the car off for a couple minutes it will engage for about 1/4 mile only.
Any ideas?
Do you have a cooler installed?
If the trans fluid goes to 226 degrees, the PCM will unlock the converter and the trans will go into limp mode. Been there, done that, not good.
I got a B&M Supercooler (24,000GVW). Problem solved.

I also have a 24,000 GVW installed. I have a VIG 3600 converter.
It's just odd that it would get that hot, the car sat for about 1 hour, then in 5 minutes it unhooked. All normal driving.
Could there be a clog in the hoses somewhere?
What makes tranny fluid get hot that quick?
I've never had that happen before and I've driven this thing hard quite a few times.
Any ideas?
