So it's time for a shift kit...got some questions!!! My mods are in my sig, and I figure its time to put in a shift kit. First, I'd like to know what this will do for me (pros and cons). Second, what are my options as far as kits go? What exactly is included in a shift kit? I keep hearing about using corvette servos, and using a certain type or number of washers during installation. I know nothing about shift kits, so I'd appreciate if someone could break it down for me and explain it a little. Thanks in advance

With the TransGo Performance Shift kit.... (1) Do not add any washers to the 2nd gear accumulator. (2) Do not grind on the manual valve, as GM fixed the low/reverse clutches not coming off fast enough in 1996. (3) You already have a Corvette servo in the LS1. (4) With #8684428 2nd gear accumulator housing, follow the instructions as per spring/piston arrangement. With #24219937 2nd gear accumulator housing install the blue spring first, then the spring seat, piston, then orange spring. For the separator plate hole sizes, with the Yank SS3600, I would make 2nd .093" - .096", 3rd .110". 4th go with .110", and Band Release .082" - .086". I will tell you how to identify the 4th & BR holes, give me a fax number? If you are going into the transmission, do not add the restrictor plugs to the reverse input drum piston, leave it as is. I would replace any plastic pistons in the accumulators.
