Default If money wasnt an issue, would you buy...

the B&M Hi-Tek cooling system (cooler with built in fan) over the cooler itself? Im just wanting to know before I make my desision. I need to make it quick, so I figured I would throw this is for the last responses. Im running the FTRA and I dont want to sacrifice it so that I can run the cooler, so I was considering a cooler with a built in fan. I know there is a $150 difference, is it really worth it? Knowing that it has a built in fan, am I pretty much able to mount it anywhere? Does getting enough air make a difference when its being cooled by a fan? Will it cool just as good as a cooler by itself that doesnt have the FTRA in the way, will it perform the same as if it did have the FTRA in the way, or will it perform better than a cooler by itself whether it had the FTRA in the way or not? Where would be the best place to mount the cooler with the built in fan? What was the original purpose of the cooler with a built in fan? Sorry for all the questions and another cooler thread, but I just need to get this settled. Thanks so much and any help is much appreciated.

I've gotten mine without the fan in the past. However, I've seen some prices lately that I thought were less than they used to be. That said, I think the deals are actually pretty good anymore, including the fan. It's definitely going to cool better with a fan. Allota moe betta! Heat is your transmissions biggest(and almost only) enemy.

If I did it over again... I'd go w/the one w/the fan... however I don't know for sure if it'll fit easily...

Transmissions don't play well with heat...

Also I'd reccommend a trans temp gauge... I have one in my car... I was able to tell right when the trans was on its way out... normal 180* or so... when the trans started hitting 220 during normal driving and 250 going up hills i knew it was toast...
