Anybody here heard about doing a 4L65E swap? I heard that GM is offering a new updated version of the 4L60E called the 4L65E. The biggest advantage is that the 60 can handle only 370 ft lbs of torque while the 65 can handle 400. While this might not be that much of a change, this is a stronger factory tranny and could also lead to a stronger aftermarket tranny like a built 4L65E. Any of you tranny experts please chime in.

Re: Anybody here heard about doing a 4L65E swap? It's basicly a 4L60E with 5 pinion front and rear planetaries and minor clutch updates.You are swaping a pickup truck transmission into a Camaro,no place to mount torque arm.

Re: Anybody here heard about doing a 4L65E swap? You swap the tailhousings. The "4L65-E" is a good place to start. I'd run it as is til the clutches burn up then build it.
