Default tranny problem?

today while i was driving home i was going about 75mph and some ricer went next to me and wanted to race, so i punched the petal all the way, and my car went like neutral, the rpm jumped to like 4500, but my car did not move at all

what could it be? are my gears bad?

any ideas.

it only does it if im going 70mph+ and i floor it

When it did accelerate how did it grab? Was it a soft pull or did it hit hard?

soft pull, it was like if i had put in on neutral and reved it, it almost did not pull at all, but it only does it on top speeds when i floor it all the way down, if i floor it lightly it will run normal

I recommend that you check your fluid level and condition. I suspect clutch damage.

How does it do from a hard hit from a stop? Basically running it WOT from as low an MPH as possible without blowing the tires off.

well it goes pretty good i have no problems at wot drom a stop, i just had the tranny rebuild and a new torque converter put in about a month ago, and i put in a new tranny mount like 1 week ago, this has never happened before do you guys think the tranny mount could be doing this? because ever since i put that poly mount ive noticed somewhat of a difference in my car, vibration, and a wining sound once in a while, like is the transmission was being forced or something

If it is a fresh build then I would suggest letting the guys that did the work have a look at it.

The mount can have an effect on the powertrain performance if the Knock Retard Tables are set on the sensitive side.

Put the stock mount back in and see what happens... I doubt you will see a change though. I believe it is an internal issue.

I understand about the hassles involved with getting it back to the shop. But, at the very least give them a call and see what they have to say.

Get back to us.

well today i tried it at WOT going about 50mph and the car sounded fine i couldnt go any faster because the streets were jammed, thats the thing i hate about houston the TRAFFIC between 4-6 pm.
i still think im going to change the ploy mount and put in the factory mount, then hopefully it will stop all the vibration

today i put it to the test, i tried it with the traction control on and off and it was the same thing

i was going about 65mph and floored it all the way te rpm went to about 4000-4500 and the car did not move until about 3 seconds of holding down the petal.

it seemed like something slip, i floored it and it took about 3-4 seconds for the car to pick up. normally the car picks up the second i floor it, i still have not changed the mount, will be doing that hopefully this week, and if thats not the problem then i have to go to the shop.

has anybody had the same problem? or think they know what it could be?

thanks for the help

shouldnt the rom be the same when you are in overdrive or regular drive

today i was going about 45mph in overdrive and my car was at 1600 rpm
when i out in regukar drive it jumped to like 500rpm more, around 2200rpm
is that normal?

Sounds like the trans is slipping. I'd Stop hammering it over and over again either way because it sure won't fix itself by doing that. The trans mount won't stop the trans from slipping or cause any kind shifting changes.

OD is 4th gear.. D is 3rd gear. It should carry more rpm in D so that part sounds normal.

That's cool to hear. Did they install the good dual cage sprag or a stock style single cage?

What is the sprag because mine is a monster kit tranny with 15000 miles on it and my reverse didn't work the other day, and then all of a sudden it started working, but then now it only does 1st and second gear, wont shift to third and only shifts at high rpms. im still on the same pcm card that was in the car before headers, tranny, exhaust, and cam were installed. could the pcm be causing the shifting probs? or could it be linkage?
