SY 4000 or TCS 4400 The guy i was going to buy my SY 4000 can't be reached. A different guy has a SY 4000 for sale, but i have been looking at TCS converters and have thought about getting a street stalker 4200 or 4400 with a 2.5 str the SY 4000 has a 1.86 ( it is more of a street converter), I hear the yanks are more efficient and the TCS has a 95% rating. The thing that i liked was that the TCS has a three year warranty and free restalls. Which one should i get 
Re: SY 4000 or TCS 4400 The Street Stalkers I believe have 95% and 96% efficiency and the Phoenix and Violaters (more expensive ones) have 97% and 98%. The Street Stalkers are more of a budget converter, but are still awesome. I will be spending the extra $200 and getting the Phoenix. I would go with the TCS because of the great customer service and the warranty. Plus Derek is such a great guy to deal with. I havent purchased mine yet, but I will post when I get it. Im sure it will make me happy! Thanks
Re: SY 4000 or TCS 4400 The SY 4000 is really a street use converter. Excellent for stoplight racing. If you will be street and strip (with decent tires), the TCS 4400 will be a better choice because the higher STR will cut your 60' time at the track.

Re: SY 4000 or TCS 4400 I guess i won't be doing that many highway races so, does that little bit of efficiency have a big effect. I would think that the TCS 4400 even with its 95% or 96% efficiency would be better on the highway do to it's stall speed and STR. I am i right or wrong?
Re: SY 4000 or TCS 4400 You can't look at just stall or str and make a conclusion. Shift extension and efficency count on the highway and there is no formula that relates stall and STR to either efficency or shift extension.
Both are going to be strong on the highway. The SY 4000 is a pretty known commodity. The TCS can be restalled for free if doesn't meet your needs.

Re: SY 4000 or TCS 4400 TCS! I run the phoenix converters but have freinds with the "StreeStalker" converter and they love them. You can get the shift extentions raised or lowered to your desire along with the 2.5str with any StreetStalker converter. You can't go wrong for the money,customer service and warrenty IMO. If you can swing the extra $200 you can go more on the str and efficency.

Verdad Gallardo Re: SY 4000 or TCS 4400 With a good tire and track prep you could be looking at mid 1.5 60fts. with no problems in cooler air. My 4200/2.7 Vs. 4200/2.5 was about .05 tenth difference in the 60ft. with the 2.7str being harder hitting. I cut a 1.56 60ft. with the 2.7str spinning the tires. The 2.5str has cut low 1.6s in the heat and i generally knock off about .05-.07 tenth at the 60ft. in cooler air because of the humidity and dew point in the south waters down the launch pad.
