I would get a transgo SK kit , Its not a performance shift kit as such but addresses many of the issues with the daily driver.

The reason for the kit is that it addresses several hydraulic issues that can creep up over time. Including improving overall shift feel.

But, we install a new sunshell in any 4L60E we build... they all get the part aptly named by it's manufacturer "The Beast". We also replace the Input Sprag with an improved dual cage unit, the rear Sprag with an improved unit and we always replace the valve body seperator plate.

The valve body plate is often "massaged" by builders when they come out of the core and then reused. I know of more than a few Performance tranny builder that reuse them.

Those mods should keep you out of trouble.

Don't forget to update the accumulator pistons with the aluminum style. Also as Gilbert stated to use a new separator plate. I prefer to use torlon check ***** instead of the factory steel *****. The steel ***** are what destroys the factory plate. As mentioned above a shift kit will help with the hydrulic's of the unit. I would also recommend getting a good 3-4 clutch pack and also a wide band. Good luck with the build. Vince
