well, built one cost money. But it will save you down the road.

Try a sponser such as FLT, or ACE transmission.

Another vote for FLT or ACE. I used FLT and absolutely love it, but ACE builds a great unit also. Either one of them will build you a quality product, and it'll be right the first time unlike others.

Thanks guys.. I appreciate the vote of confidence.

It's true, we do built a very nice 4L60E. We have not had one fail since becoming Sponsors here at LS1 Tech last summer... that's because we conducted our own reasearch and develop program that lasted well over 1 year. It was only after I was satisfied that we had accomplished the goal that I released our units to the public at large.

Currently I am not charging any shipping for any unit we build. Feel free to shoot me a p.m. in order to learn more.

And one more thing.... Vince and the guys at FLT do build a very nice transmission. You cannot go wrong with either company.

Good Luck and do your homework before you decide who to make your purchase with.

I have heard of nobody running a TCI 4L60E. I would not purchase a major powertrain component from a big box store. It's a personal preference for me though. I prefer to get personal service from the people who are building my engines... trannies should be no different. I am very, picky about who I let do anything for me though.

I would recommend at least a Stage 2 unit for that power level. However, many of the transmissions we build are not the same. I believe in building custom transmissions. Certainly many of the parts are the same, but it's what you do with those parts in different combinations that can make a huge difference.

I really need to know more than engine power before making a solid recommendation. Vehicle type, weight, cam profile if you have it, heads, h/p level, power adder, converter stall, rear gears and tires is usually all I need.

I believe in long term relationships that are build on solid deals. I'm not sure you can get that from a big box store... or even a very high volume shop.

My motor is basicly all stock exept for the cam and intake, The cam is a MS4 650 lift cam, The heads have been ported to an LS6 head, there are no power adeers but I plan on doin alot more more to the motor down the road. I would like atleast a 3500 stall, it has stock wheels and tires 275/40R17, 410 gear. As far as the car it is a 2002 Camaro SS (full wieght car). I want a good firm shift. It is mainly a street rod but sometimes take it to the track.... I would say that the motor will make atleast 450 to 500 HP.. Just give me an estimant on a private message if you can... Thanks
