Default TH350 no 3rd gear

Any ideas on what it could be?

cheetah manual VB, new trans...1st and second is fine but no 3rd gear

recheck your intall. It could be something as simple as a misplaced block off plug or check ball.

It could have a problem in the direct clutch pack.

Gil, I need to find the instructions from the cheetah VB but I did not install the pin that goes infront of the modulator. So your builder thinks the fluid is just going back into the pan.

Any idea where I can find that part? noone local has one....I will buy one off you if you have it. But pretty sure thats what it is, I build this trans in 2002 and it has been sitting on a shelf since then

I am not sure about the fluid routing on that particular T brake but sounds like that could be the culprit.

well no t-brake on this one turbo action 23253

Here is what I did, I took the modulator out and put the billet plug in. Well I took the modulator valve out also and it should have been left in. So I just ordered one, I will put it in and see what happens.

Good chance I burned it up so might need some clutches anyway.....again

I have built severa stock type trans....this is my first attempt at a racing type trans.....learning curve I guess.

Well if the plug was left out most likely no fluid got to the direct clutch so most likely it did not get hosed.wouldn;t hurt to take it apart and check it anyways. The other culprit might be a cut teflon ring on the pump.
