I haven't done WOT in 3rd yet but the problem is in 2nd gear at this stage. Wouldn't be surprised if the clutches are had it, I am just having a run of not the best luck ATM.

I just took it for a drive for the first time since I saw this new problem and now it's gone into limp home mode again.

Will get it scanned for codes tomorrow again.

I just double checked the fluid level and it was quite low. It took 1.5L/ 3.2 pints and now it isn't going into limp home but is doing the slip thing. Hard to describe so here is a Photobucket link to a vid of what it is doing. The 1st one is it shifting normally through the gears on low throttle:

The 2nd one is full throttle. The 1-2 shift lets go and grabs again then in 2nd it seems to kind of rev limit before the change to 3rd. I didn't want to push it more to see if it would actually shift into 3rd:

The clutches are toast. Time for a rebuild/replace.

Just scanned for trouble codes and got the 2-3 solenoid circuit failure again. Ideas?

I would still just change the solenoid first

The thing is last week I dropped the pan and tested resistance on all solenoids and got 24-26ohms on all 5 so they were functioning (I think?) but I swapped the 1-2 and 2-3 over to rule out the solenoids.

That points to an electrical fault in the loom somewhere or a physical fault like a stuck valve or accumulator I guess. I was sort of hoping for some tips on what parts act on the 2-3 circuit so i can maybe take them out and check them.

On your advice I got a pro to check all the fuses and relays and all were o.k. so I am at a loss for what to do next.

I am thinking of replacing the solenoid loom and solenoids but that is really pricey for what is probably a simple fix.

It is also throwing an intermittent TPS fault code on the dash but on the scan tool there is no history of that code???

Could the TPS be tricking the PCM into false shifting?

Anything you can think of is great because I am at a loss

Where are the PCM connectors? Our layouts are vastly different but a general point in the right direction may help.

Here is a pic of my Engine bay. The fuses and relays are in the black rectangular box on the left of pic and there are 3 plugs off the loom at the top left of the pic behind the strut that look pretty major.

I just fitted a new TPS in case it was that because I got a TPS fault code. The code is still there after the new TPS.

Reset the ECU which cleared the codes after fitting a new TPS and just went sideways up the street for the first time in weeks

I didn't go to somewhere to open it right up yet and it seems too good to be true, will keep you posted.

What year is the car?

It could be that the PCM is throwing a TPS code because it "thinks" the TPS is reporting incorrectly because of the Converter or other powertrain mods. '98's are bad about that.

It's a 2002 model. Thing is it's an Australian L67 rwd platform car so our 02 4L60E might not be the same as the boxs you guys got in 02. 4HDD is the prefix on the box I think.

U may be right about the code being an indirect sign of something else, a few people have told me similar. Torque management isn't the same on the L67 ECU as it is on the LS1etc. Doesn't limit torque apparently but I have a feeling the new TPS won't be the end of story yet

Still doing it. If I turn the car off and start it again it will go out of limp home (2nd and 3rd gear only, no lock up) and just do the jumping thing some times at WOT.

Getting confused now
