Tranny or PCM problem?

Tranny or PCM problem? K, I have a 94 Trans Am. It has a 1995 STOCK PCM in it at the time and it hasn't been dynoed to the new mods put on it like headers, exhaust, cam, intake, monster kit trans, etc. Recently I had my reverse not work and then later in the day my car only shifted into first and second gear and then it won't shift into third. dunno if this is a tranny issue, shifter issue, or pcm issue. I will be getting a new pcm card which will be tuned to the mods next week. but i was wondering if this could be caused by the computer since the pcm in it now is stock. Also, the monster kit tranny has only 15000 miles on it so dunno why it would be that. maybe the shifter or pcm?
The loss of reverse is a mechanical issue period Does the car still not have reverse?

Thats very strange. Reverse is a purly mechanical operation. I would think maybe stuck valve body ? When you say only two gears what do you mean if you put it in OD and drive it will only shift one time?

like when i put it in Drive, I will accelerate and it will rev and go in 1st gear to about 4000 RPMS and then it will shift to second gear and won't go to third even if rpms get to 5000 in second gear. tranny has 15000 miles on it, its a monster kit. any clue as to what is going on?
Well first would be to get a scanner on it and see what being commanded, A shift that lateI would guess is a programing or sensor issue, Does the speedo work ? are you geting and SES light ?

no ses light. so maybe you think the newly tuned PCM will fix it? The speedo works, but is off by a lot.... it always has been. The only lights that are on are Low coolant, which is always on and due to emissions being removed. The check engine light is always on too. but never had a problem when it was on until now.

well if its on I would scan for codes just because it was allready on does not mean that theres not usefull info there about the problem your having now
