As the subject says, what RPM should I launch at? Or is this just something I'll have to test out better at the track.
when i had my 2.73 gears i was launching at 3000 with it but when i got my 3.73 gears installed the car starts to roll at 3000 so now i have it at 2500-2800. if your using slicks just torque it up till the car trys to start rolling and hold it there
The Vig.3200 likes to be launched from 700-1000 rpms or just off idle. I cut several high 1.5s with mine before the TCS converter.

Alright thanks guys. I'm gonna try the higher idle, and I'm also gonna just punch it at idle. I'll see what I can pull off. I'm planning on going RT66 raceway tomorrow after work. I also took the car to Speed Inc and their were a few little things with the tuning that needed to be fixed, and some trans fluid needed to be added. The car feels much better after it.

1000-1500 is best. The closer to idle that you can just MASH the gas and hook the better. Vigs like flash! With nittos I never could get a dead idle flash to hook. I always had to roll from like 1500 rpms then mash the gas to hook
I'd experiment with 200 rpms over idle and 400 rpms over idle. Just launching off idle might not work as well you might get a fuel bog... but try it!
I have had my best 60 fts leaving at 1000 rpms. This converter really likes to be flashed my times fall off when I try to leave any higher than about 1700 rpms
I've had over 200 runs with this convertor, and did ALOT of testing with it. Varying RPM's to achieve the best 60', and then after going up in RPM's, I tried going back down. Increments of 100. I tried this on different tempurature days, just to take testing results at face value. EVERY time, the very best results came when I reved the motor up to 1000-1100 RPM's, and just hammered it from there.
I cut a best 60' of 1.50 on ET STreets (15psi) All Motor, bolts ons.
A best of 1.44 (10.68) on ET Drags (15psi) & 100 shot. Idled to 1100, and hammered it & hit the button all at once.
FWIW, just my experience with the convertor.
Start testing it yourself. Launch with the RPM's at 900, then 1000, 1100, etc, until you find the swet spot. Give yourself 1 day of testing at the track, for just this one thing. It's one of the easiest things to check. Good luck.

Black Sunshine/ 00SS - Thank you as well as everyone else. Seems like 900-1200 area will be my sweet spot. I came home late on tues so never went to RT66 dragstrip, but hopfully I'll go to US41 Indiana this SAT.
