Default Urgent! Tranny Install problems

Buddy and I decided to us ehis lift and put ym new clutch in tonight. Had trouble getting the tranny off, actually the spline all the way out. New clutch is installed and ready to go. We raise the tranny back up ad can not get the tranny lined up right with the tranny jack. Its bottoming out on the body of the car and the spline shaft from the tranny keeps hitting the fingers of the pressure plate and we dont want to force the trannys shaft on the fingers to get it toline up right. Any ideas? we gave up for tonight but are trying again first thign in the morning please help.

More than likely the clutch isn't lined up right. Did you use a line up tool? I would try loosening the pressure plate bolts and line it up again using a tool. Make sure while you're tightening it up you wiggle the tool around in a circular motion as you're tightening it, sometimes that helps.

We used a clutch alignment tool, the clutch is dead center lined up perfectly. I just dont get how installing a tranny can be this hard.
