Default Shift linkage disconnect?

How the heck do I disconnect the shift linkage to remove the plastic piece shown? If this picture doesn't help I can get a better one...
It's a 4l60e btw.

Maybe these pics will help more, one of the retaining tabs is broke off on the black plastic piece that slides into the metal bracket bolted to the trans pan. This is allowing me to manually move my gear selector from underneath the car with everything hooked up and making it not always want to go into park.

I suspect that this, like a lot of GM's cables, is all
one assembly and you get to replace the whole
thing all the way to the shifter (have to pull it
there, and then out through the underside).
