Default transmission problems

My transmission has started to make funny sounds. It kinda sounds like the drive shaft is lose and knocking but i checked it and had it checked and it was all intact. When i get on it a little bit when it is in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd it makes a weird noise like the drive shaft is lose but when i cruise and get into drive or the last gear and get on it a little bit it dosnt do it. Any thoughts?

BTW it is a stock 4l60e with a 3600 stall with an aftermarket tranny cooler

Check your converter bolts I realize the sound may not appear to come from there but its kinda what it sounds like to me

Is the converter or cooler leaking at all? Still sounds like it could be your problem, a 3600 with stock trans and motor can cause all sorts of weird issues and it always seems like its coming from the back, not where its mounted.

Is this noise a constant noise or a clunk every once and again? How is the trans mount? Also make sure that the exhaust is not touching anywhere it should not be. Vince

It clunks untill i take my foot off the gas. It only happens when i get on it a little bit (never been full throttle) in 1st 2nd or 3rd after those gears and i get on it a little bit it dosnt make a sound. Havnt checked the mount yet.

The tailhousing could be cracked, The mount could be bad, the crossmember could be loose, the u-joints could be bad...

This is a good case for a long and very thorough visual inspection. Don't take that lightly. We repair many, many cars with a simply long and thorough inspection.
