questions about my b&m shift kit
ok so i installed a b&m shift improver kit at around 124k i now have 138k on it. when i put it in i set it up for the "street/strip level" and with this it replaces the springs in the accumulator with solid metal spacers. so my questions are... 1st, is this kit gonna ruin my tranny? i dont go WOT from a dead stop that often just every now and then. 2nd, are the spacers in the accumulator causing it to sort of bang into gear between 2-3? 3rd, im getting a lil tired of the extreme shifts cause its my DD, so can i put the "towing level" springs in the accumulator that came with the kit even though the ports in the VB are drilled out for the "street/strip"?

Yes to all of those questions!
Blocking accumulators is a very rude and crude way to get an automatic to shift better. You are not looking for a neck snapping, jarring shift.... rather you are looking for a quick, firm shift.
So yes, definately removing those solid spacers and install the spring setup!
The harsh shifting will definately be detrimantal to the clutches... not so much the clutch material as it is the "teeth" of the clutches... also it can be abusive on other hard parts in a high mileage and even low mileage unit.

ok cool. so should i put the "towing level" springs in or the stock springs back in the accumulator? will this cut down on the wear? i know it has probably done some damage but will it cut down on it?
