yank ss 3600 and traction
i guess personally i don't know how great those tires are. i had some small 245/55/16 tires on my car before i got my drag radials. all i had was a lid, full exhaust, and 2.73s at that.....i can roast the tires all day long with my A4. So I can't really say what's going to happen with your tires, cuz I've never had them. You might want to find someone who does have them, and being a 19" rim, well that means you will have no flex in the tire which again means less traction. Maybe if you did some suspension work too you could get traction with the stock tires. I really don't know about that. Also depends how wide them tires are, but I really doubt anyone on something other than drag radials or slicks will get traction with a stall. Now the cam? I'm really not sure, cuz depending on the cam it won't make really good power till about 3-4k...so maybe you won't spin till you shift into 2nd or the top of first? Not sure...good luck

well my rear rims are 19'' but the rear tires are 285 wide just like a stock c6 corvett, does anyone know if i can get a stall more in the range of 2800 or 3000 on 3.23 with that wide rear tire, if i can get traction in 1st gear. if not then i just won't get a stall
With any stall your going to roast them. Since you have 19's it will be even worse. I spin up to 35 mph on 17" KDW's with good tread. Thats with stock stall and no cam, now im going with a 4k stall and tr230, traction will be non-exsistent. Either get drag radials or learn to pedal.
Why bother modding you car if your worried about spinning the tires? Its going probably going to run/feel like junk with a stock stall anyway. It wont feel much faster with a cam because you wont be in the cams power range right awhile.
X2...you can't have your cake and eat it too. A cammed A4 car will be a dog off the line w/o a stall, and you are afraid of spinning the tires. I don't really know what to tell you.

i know i will spin all im sayin is that im not willing to part with these rims, so does anyone know what would be a stall and str that would help my car, without driving sideways down the road?
Find out who the sponsor of Yank is on here and give them a call or shoot them a pm or email.
dude.... dont worry so much! get the stall... see how it feels! i garentee u will be like "why the hell did i ever even make this thread!" haha ur gonna love it... and if u dont u can always build up ur suspension and buy some good tires to tame her.... but who dosent love the feeling of roasting the tires from a 40 mph roll? I KNO I DO!
im not gonna take off the rims or tires, if i stay with 3.23 and go with a 3000 stall will it make it easier to get traction. I understand what you guys are saying about not mashing on it but by doing that is there even a point of getting a stall in my case? thanx for all opinions
2) Learn that the throtlle is not an on/off switch

3) A lower STR does make it easier to launch a small stall like a 3000.
4) You may find this hard to believe, but a 4000 stall will be even easier to launch than a 3000. The additional slip makes it easier to roll into the throttle. A YTP 4000 and 3.23s is just killer on the street. Loose as hell, but killer.

If I get in it a hair too fast, I can burn 'em in second damn-near halfway down the track. On the street (where it is more slippery) I can drive normal and even fast but It won't launch at anything even close to heavy throttle. I love this thing.
When I finally get some wheels and tires, it's gonna ride.

If you're willing to get some LCA's, relocates, and pull the front swaybar it'll really help.

What do you want from the car?
A drag racer? Interstate burner? SCCA track car? quick daily driver?
What compromises are you willing and unwilling to make?
We know you won't loose the tires and wheels, what else?
If you don't want drag tires, you won't like or need anything other than 3:23's.

i just want to make my car as quick of a daily driver a possible without takin the rims or tires off. So for the suspension LSA,relocates, pull front swaybar? anything else?what size cam should i look for (tr224) ok ?
Or do you want a high winding, rough idling, slightly-soggy low-end screamer that needs things like a high stall converter and gears?
The cam needs to be part of a package. Needs to fit your desired useable powerband. the 224 should have at least a 3000 rpm converter and headers. Do you like a smooth idle, good low-end torque, and easy driving in the rain?

The 224 is a very friendly cam, you can make decent numbers and perform at the track decent and apparently feels stock. You can do a search on this using the search function and see how others like it. They say not to go lower than a 3500 stall cuz you regret it later. So I got myself an SS3600 from Yank. I'd suggest you do the same. With a lower STR of course since it'll be easier on the launch.

well i never drive in rain or snow cus i have a second car for that so thats not an issue with me, i don't want a high winding cam and dont mind a lil rough idle nothing crazy though, thats why i was lookin at the tr224 112 lsa, can i get the ss3600 on like a 1.8 str? and look into lower control arms, relocation bracket, and swaybar any, any other susp mods?
