do you think a th-400 is smart for me ? It will be a daily driver and my cruz car. But i seem to break every trans i touch like my FLP IV 2 months after warrenty is up ! I need something strong but dont want to spin 4 to 5 thousand rpm at 80. What do you guys all think? also what R's will i spin at higher speeds?

Re: do you think a th-400 is smart for me ? need more info. what gears and tire size you running? i have a 200-4r ill be selling here real soon. im going with a 400 with a brake. im selling everything for $2000 plus shiping. tranny(with a documented rebuild), converter built to your specs(TCS 4400 right now), driveline, cross member with ds loop, shifter(b&m pro ratchet)

Re: do you think a th-400 is smart for me ? How much HP will a TH400 soak up compared to the TH350 right now i have stock gears but i want 3.73 and 26" ET Streets. Also what is a TH400 with lock up option? sorry for the questions but i know this is the place to learn and get the best word.

Re: do you think a th-400 is smart for me ? the 400 takes in upwards of 30 hp to run over the 350.plus the 400 is heavier as well. and the lock up option is where you can lock up the converter. very expensive
Re: do you think a th-400 is smart for me ? TH400 if properly built can take 1000+ horsepower. The TH350 is a fine transmission, but not for a heavy car. Unless it is upgraded with every race part available, it will not last. I went thru 3 of them with the Trans Am (425HP) I used to have.
Re: do you think a th-400 is smart for me ? A 4l60e built right will hold your cars power without any problems.If you go to a th350 or 400 you'll be losing the crusing ability of your car and in the long run you will hate driving the car any long distance.Unless you run highway gearing.

Re: do you think a th-400 is smart for me ? Yah im kinda mad i will loose the crusing part but if the new trans hold its well worth it. I think i just a pro at breaking trans so i need something that will last and the TH400 seems the best option now. Thanks for all the halp you all have given me!

I wish I had of known you were going to be selling your 200-R4 soon, I just blew my 4L60E and it should be back tomorrow built as a Stage III. I really wanted to go to a 200-R4 but they're so damned expensive.
