A while back my vig 3200 had the fins bent and caused more stall, you happen to have any pictures of what they were talking about?

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but how much can the clutches in these converters hold under WOT?

I don't have an exact number, but I would guesstimate over 800 HP. I think it will outlast the 4L60E.

If it helps any, I made 5 hard dyno pulls and several WOT passes locked up on the big end and our Circle D multi-disc never blinked. I would be surprised if anyone here found it's limits. Like Chris said, the tranny would likely give first.

Good point James, the dyno tuning option is great. You don't have to worry about overheating the converter on the dyno, make as many pulls as you want. Even if you never plan on locking it up at the track, the "No Worries" lock up clutch is a great tuning tool.

Long time no update... Had a lot of things going on.

Finally got the car on the road again. With the Level 3 trans, the Circle D converter, and the turbo all on the car at the same time for the first time!

Brake torqued it and got it to build a little boost before it overpowered the rear brakes. Did a couple of 0-80 and 20-80 snaps, and it's running awesome.

The converter locking up is like getting another gear.

...now I just need to put some finishing touches on the tune and then get some 1/4 mile times! Expecting low (low) 10's.

Sorry, just noticed your question. The multi disk is suggested for use on forced induction cars. They can use the lock up at the track. That being said, the multi is more durable and will still work in a N/A car. Good for multiple dyno runs with out slipping.
