hi to all, i have a 2001 ss w/373's as far as drivtrain mods go. my problem started when i installed the vig 3600 converter, the car had only 200 miles on it, which i guess is irrelevant, i took it to the track and it ran a great 12.34 @109 and i was ecstatic, well.. a while after the track with about 600 miles on the clock i got an ses lite, the code was shift solenoid 1, when the code went on, the car went into limp home mode, 2nd gear i believe. after shutting car off and restarting it, the code stayed but car shifted fine. i was on my way to track when it happened, performance did not suffer, it ran a couple more 12.40's. took it to dealer, i have a friend that works at a chevy dealer, and replaced solenoid, but this problem kept happening, about 3 or 4 more times till about 2300 miles were on the clock, frustrated, i took out converter and car has run great w/no codes for 1500 miles. what gives??

The only way I know of fixing this , is to turn the code off with programming .
