Fuddle converters: Good or Bad?

i have heard stories go either way...they back up their warranty and have good customer from the threads i have read on here, but I have seen many people switch to yank or vig, because they break the fuddle one too many times or just want the proven name (i mean that in a good way)...

Plenty of miles and a few track passes on mine, holding up fine.

If you want the best then get a Vig or a Yank. If you want the best bang for the buck then get a Fuddle or a TCI. Every company mentioned has success stories and every one has horror stories. But for quality, effiency and longevity I would personally go with Yank. One of the basic facts of life IMO is this:
The best isn't cheap and if it's cheap then it isn't the best.
Now of course I mean brand new and from a vendor or a store. But you can plug in anything and it should apply. TV's, radios, shoes, pants, shirts, jewelry and in this case torque converters. Some may argue with me on this and that's fine. Everyone is entitled to thier opinion. But I will still stand by the old saying of "you get what you pay for".
I'm not bashing Fuddle or TCI. My TCI has done me very well for 2+ years. For the money spent I got a good value. But looking forward to my next converter I want to go with a Yank SS4000.

agreed!! another thing, is since our trannies are somewhat suspect, why would u want to put in a cheap verter? go with the proven vig and yank!

I had a Fuddle in mine with absolutely ZERO converter issues. Definately a great bang for the buck. A Yank is going to get more feedback but it is a proven performer with more years to back it up. It all depends on how much you want to spend. An exaggerated comparison would be like, what do you want to drive-Ferarri or Corvette?
I've heard good and bad. I do disagree that vig and yank are the best though. I went through two vig verters already and they are good and yank is even better but I would have to say Neil Chance verters are the best and the service is top notch too. That is all I will use now. Not bashing on any others just my opinion. Vig and yank are still good verters.

Yes, plenty of people run Fuddle without a problem. Plenty of people have converter failures too. How often do you see VIG or Yank converters fail AT ALL, let alone in bolt-on cammed cars like Fuddles do.
If you want a Fuddle, more power to you, but I recommend you look up the thread on here that show you the difference internally between modified stock converters like fuddle or TCI and actually fabricated units like Yank or VIG. That will make your decision for you and you will feel educated as to why you made the decision you did
