converter issues
I just installed a yank ss4000 and a b&m supercooler. The problem im having is after the car heats up the converter seems to get really loose and stall over 4k rpm... which isnt normal, but when i turn the key off and start it up again its fine... im confused here any help?
Are you sure you are not setting limp mode have you scanned for codes ?

im getting a tune next week... that would be my guess that its going into safe or limp mode. Im pretty sure its something with the ecu if it does it after its been running awhile, but when i turn the car off and on again it stops immediately. I havent had enough time to mess with it much yet, but its also locking and unlocking on the highway. I think ill be fine once i get a tune... i hope!
you need a trany cooler. The fluid in a converter gets very hot and when it gets to hot it will not shift into o/d because that gear makes the fluid even hotter. With a high stall the fluid will be hotter because it has to spin faster to produce movement. I think if you got a trany cooler it would fix your issue. Plus it will make your tranny last alot longer if your going to abuse it.

i dont have a trans temp guage but i plan on getting one soon. I got under the car today and noticed the shift linkage was loose... would this cause something to go wrong?
When cold, what rpms are you using to drive around? Let's see if they are unusually high for big stall. Be specific about situations.
Double check that you didn't get something stuck in a cooler line or the cooler.
Log some data if you have the software to see what the transmission is being told to do and if any codes are being thrown.
Call Yank and discuss this with them. They may have some ideas or things to check.

when leaving from a stop it jumps to about 3k rpm then when it shifts goes to about 2k rpm. When the converter locks it seems to make the car jump around a little bit
