Default need help! 4l60e

ok so i have a stalled auto.

was driving home from picking up my little brother. car was driving normal. shifting fine. i pull into the driveway. drop off my brother and put the car in reverse. i didnt go nowhere! WTF! the car still drives forward but wont go in reverse. just sits like if it were in N. and another thing when i put it in neutral it freakin goes forward like if it were in D! WTF? in Park, it moves abit like if it were trying to go into gear...has anyone ever had this? heard of this? is my tranny royally fukd!?

Sounds similar to my mother's '97 Chevy truck (which is also 4L60). It had no reverse, but the forward gears worked ok, but when you had it in OD or D it wouldn't shift out of first gear. If you put it in 1 or 2 it shifted good but slipped pretty bad off the start.

I'm sure the Performabuilt, FLT, or Ratchthed will chime in and be able to help you better than I can.

thanks bro! yea hopefully they chime in.

all my forward gears work fine. seems to go good manually into 1st,2nd, 3rd, 4rth. and while shifting automatically aswell. just reverse, neutral, and park feel weird. my pops was telling me that the thing that moves by a cable when manually putting the car into gears probably moved or someting. that it un-adjusted or something. and thats why in neutral it moves forward, and park it acts up alil bit. but im not sure. hopefully its just something that needs to be adjusted.i dont have any SES light either.

If by weird you mean that in neutral it trys to go forward and in park wont rev well and in reverse are like the brakes are on, Then you have a seized forward clutch and yes you have a serious transmission issue,

yea in reverse the car does nothing. just sits. and wont roll back either. car will roll back with car off. when in neutral the car acts like it is in drive. in park it kinda feels like the car is not compleatly in park. i can kinda feel like it slightly pulls forward, but not enough to move the car.

You need a rebuild, the forward frictions "welded" themselves to the steels.
