Which trans..FLP or LS1 Speed stage 3?
i had a bad experience with speed inc trying to get a tranny, there were several issues but i wont go into that. they are prety hard to get ahold of(very busy), and they don't actualy build the trannys themselves, they farm it out to someone.
i have had just the oposite experience at flp, chuck is prety easy to get ahold of, he will call you back or return your email prety quickly. he is the actual builder. super nice guy.
so i have a no vote on wich is better and a vote for flp on customer service.
I know someone that was running their transmission and had issues with it. They wouldn't warrantee the part that broke, even though the car had gone thru the shop weeks prior.
Needless to say, they went to a Speed Inc. trans, and I don't believe they've had any problems.
Another Speed Inc. trans customer had a few small issues with their trans. Lonnie, the gentleman that builds the 4L60E's for Speed Inc. drove up that night from Kentucky to fix the problem himself. I've also heard of him doing the same for another customer. They also warrantee all their transmissions.
I feel that both Speed Inc and FLP sell excellent trannies. I personally have the Speed Inc unit, and I've also know people who have loved their FLP unit. I have seen both take some major power and abuse and hold up great. But I have to vote for Speed Inc because I've had nothing but great experiances with them and their products.
Honestly though, you can't go wrong with either trans, IMO.
i am shooting for a high 11sec slip(5000+lbs) opening day at my local track, that day is past my 3month warenty period so i called and asked chuck if he is going to cover me thru that day and he said no problem. and about my problems with speed inc, it seems i am the only one that ever had a problem with them, lots of raves for both trannys from everyone it seems.

No you're not the only one, I just had my stage 2 speed inc tranny go out. I e-mailed tom and the next evening the builder himself called me. Lonnie (the builder) is covering the repair and shipping both ways to set things right. They certainly get my vote for great customer service.

What happened to it, I mean what symptoms is it having?
