Default converter problem

I,ve got a 3200 vig that won't lock up all the time. The tech tool says the pcm is not telling it to lock up when this happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default Re: converter problem

Hey Grey sliver, I'll try to help not sure tho. Here goes..... First of all the pcm has to see several things before it commands lock up. It has to be proper speed, proper working temp, gear selection, brake switch position to name a few. I've seen bad tps, brake lite switchs, temp senders and other things stop this from happening. In short it's time to check your system out. I'd start with the break lite switch make sure it's okay. Then I would be sure it was within proper temp. These seem to be the biggest problems I've encountered. It could be a host of things, take it to your tranny guy...he'll know what to look for. Always remember the converter is a slave to the tranny, it relies on the trans for direction the trans relies on the pcm.I hope this helps you.
