PTC Torque Convertor
Has anyone used one? Im looking to upgrade from my Yank and can get a great deal on a PTC. I am just a little hesitant because I have been so happy with my Yank.
I have heard PTC is a great convertor and is rougly half the cost of what i can get a Yank for.
Any opinions?
Thanks
Josh

I don't know anything about PTC or if they are even a sponsor on here, but remember, you get what you pay for, usually.
Here is a link to a thread that goes into detail about a "budget" converter. Not sure what components they are using, but be careful.

PTC actually shows up in the Google sponsor box.
I know a few people who have bought converters from them and they all came in Dacco boxes, I've been told that Dacco doesn't make 4l60E high stall converters but I've seen them. They are rebuilt cores like B&M, TCI, and Fuddle.
Dacco is huge and a good stock rebuilder, but I know nothing about what goes in their high stall converters.

We are a dealer for PTC Converters and have had great success with them. You can shoot a PM over to Pro Stock John, he runs one in his Formula..... when he actually takes it out
As far as the post for 9000thss I am not sure where your friends ordered their converters from, but all PTC converters come in a PTC box, not Dacco. They have absolutely NO affiliation with the company you mentioned.
PTC Converters power some of the fastest cars running in the NMCA as well as many Outlaw 10.5 cars.
LS1 Street/Strip Converters start at $450.
These converters come standard with anti ballooning plates.
We have seen gains in bolt on LS1 cars up to .07 with PTC Converters!
Check out a link the their website here:

Fell free to shoot me a PM or call at 440-327-7702 for ordering or tech information on these converters.
Thanks,
Leo

PTC has been around plenty long enough.
Maybe you've heard of Kenny Ford, formerly of TCI, when Bill Taylor sold TCI, he left and started his own company.

Never heard of PTC and you're in the performance transmission business?

I have owned and installed several of there converters and have never had any problems at all. They also build some great transmissions as in th350,th400, and powerglides. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Ive ran PTC stalls in my 4L60e and now im running an unlocking one in my TH350 for my TA. They are great converters and the customer service is unbelievable .. I always talk to Tim and he always hooks me up with whatever i want.
I ran one in my 4L60e and it seemed to pull very well. Also the prices of their converters kills all of the competitions. Also they come with anti ballooning plates on all their converters i believe and have all the goods. They cant be beat really. I wish someone would talk to them about being a sponsor. They would make a killin.

Thanks Leo I know you Nick and Gimp are all running them and i was about 99% sure thats what i was going with.
How long will it take you to get one in?
I want one with about a 4000 stall that will work best with my motor setup but can also handle spray when i get there.
Thanks again Leo.

I happened to see this thread. I'm running a 16 blade TH400 PTC converter in the turbo Formula, 1.35 on drag radials. This model converter has run a number of class cars into the high 7's and low 8's too... Good stuff.

We are also a PTC dealer and they have been great for us as well.
I would suggest you give Yank a call about a refresh and restall maybe they can do something for you for a few hundred dollars.
PTC converters are IMO the best converter for the price.

Yank will cut/clean/restall your converter for about half the price of the PTC converter. I had them restall my SS4000 to my current PT4400. You might contact them before you sell it off. Save you some money and still run the best!!

i run ptc convertor and i have no problems and it will come in a ptc box i am only about an hour from ptc shop and if i have a problem kenny ford is more than helpful to get the problem fixed ,ps i did not have a bad convertor i put a 350 turbo in my ls1 powered rock crawler and i had the wrong flex plate so i called kenny and he gave me one to fix the problem i thought that was good service i will go with them again

I'll vouch for PTC also, great customer experience. Have had a few hicups over the last year with trans and they've worked with me every step of the way. I burned up my 60e with one of thier convertors...within months of putting it in. I wanted to go TH350, so they swapped it out for me for minimal cost...in the car and running, very satisfied with thier stuff and customer service.
Shouldnt let all that marketing hype around vig and yank own you
1.64 60s NA with a little ole boat anchor motor (with more in it)
