Default Yank SS3600 is in and....

It drives just like my Super Thruster 3000.
Holds on a hill, creeps forward at idle.
When Yank said it would drive like a 2800, they weren't kidding; if the old one wasn't in the box, I'd never know from the old one in normal driving. Nobody. and I mean NOBODY will have any bitches about drivability with this one.
Now, all I need are some miles on the clock so I can mash it from a stop.
Punched it at 40 and it screamed.

With the Yank SS3600 do any trouble codes show up? My 2002 WS6 just has a few bolt ons, can I put in that converter without reprograming or tuning?

WS6 RULES: Once you start making WOT runs, I believe for best results, you'll have to do some PCM work..... Someone actually who has this SS3600, or 3800, please correct me if I'm mistaken....WJ. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I can't speak for a '02; the '98s usually don't have torque management issues.
I never threw a code woith the ST3000 and would be surprised if this one does.
Many with ST3500 threw codes when driven in OD at low speeds. Yank's advertising states that this converter was designed to avoid these.

I have 2.73s and eventually changing to 3.42s or 3.73s. Would a SS3600 or SS3800 be a good choice?
My main concern is drivability, and from reading what you guys have posted about these converters, seems like their drivability is better than the Vigilantes.
I was going to get a Vig3200, but now I'm considering one of these Yanks. I'd imagine with the stall speeds they perform just as good or better then the Vig3200?

If drivability is your main concern, stay with the SS3600 or Vig 2800. Both will provide big gains and maintain good drivability. A high STR 3300 from TCS would also work well.

Ragtop have you driven the new SS3600? Do you think I would be able to tell the difference between my vig 2800 as far as looseness if someone slipped a SS3600 in there?

I put around 100 miles on it since install and all good news.
With the B&M Shift+ on the lower setting, the shifts are not tight as with the ST3000; probably about the same as with the stock converter and the stock setting. Holds on a really steep hill without rolling back. No SES lights in OD.
No sign of chatter, surges, anything. No 'wierd' shifts'- nothing. Drives totally normally until you mash it.

Simply blows through first gear. Trips the ASR BIG TIME when floored. Trips the ASR at partial throttle from a stop-REAL easy to bust the back end loose. Takes a light foot on the pedal to avoid spinning.
Barks the tires at the 1-2 with the ASR on.

Looks like some better tires are next.

I have not driven the SS3600 and it has been a couple years since I last drove a PI 2800, so i don't think I could make that close a comparo for you. I have friends with the ss3800 and I would consider dropping that in my car if I get tired of my YTP 4200. If you are thinking of upgrading go for the SS3800; It may be a bit looser than your 2800, but there will be a solid gain in performance.

Would this converter work well with nitrous? I am looking for a converter that will work good with nitrous(maybe some stalls on nitrous) and still run like a raped ape on motor also. I have been looking into a Vig 3200 or 3600(can't make the mind up though).

What about the ss3600???????
