HELP!! bent flexplate a lil, is it still ok???
by bent i mean i had a screwriver thru it to brace it when we replaced the crank bolt after my cam install. Well the handle came off the scredriver and the shaft if it bent the hole on ether side of it enough to allow the scredriver to go up into the bellhousin. I turnrd it all the way around and will torch the peice out later. Meanwhile is the flexplate safe to use??? I know nothing about internal/external balancing. I want the motor to have a long and healthy life. So if i need to pull the tranny i nned some advice if i need to or not
thanks
thanks
If the hub in the middle isn't bent comparative to the outer area where it bolts to the converter, you're fine. I would get everything hooked up, start the engine, eyeball it for wobble, and it should be okay.

It probably didn't affect your balance any, but I'd be concerned about cracks later on. I would not expect you to have any problems, but if it stretched the hole and caused a stress riser, it may crack later. take a good look at it and use your judgement. Good luck!
if you find that it is out of balence or broken i have a flexplate out of my 01 that you can have for free and your not that far away so you come get it when ever you wanted it. E-amil me if its needed.
