I got my converter installed (Midwest 3500 2.0) and went out to the track all excited, but the best 60' I could cut was a 1.91. The track is known for shitty prep but I was pretty disapointed. Is this a case of bad prep or will Nittos just not hook with this converter at the track?
1.9 isn't horrible, but nittos are not super glue. They will go up in smoke if you have the power. With stock weight, you'll probably get around 1.6-1.7 as a best. My best so far is 1.75.
Have you got boxed lca's, a right side airbag, or control arm re-location brackets? These should help the 60's w/a REAL GOOD burnout w/the Nitto's....Best of luck. WJ.

I have 315s out back with SFCs LCAs and an adj. PHR and my best with the nittos is a 1.9 , maybe that's their limit. I tried all different pressures 20-35 lbs; not much change. 25 seems best for me.

Nittos need to be really hot to stick. Drop them to 18 - 22lbs and heat them until you see smoke in your rear view mirror.
When I was bolt-ons I used them with good results including a 1.68 60'. I know guys who have cut 1.5x with an A4 on nittos at a good track.

You gotta get 'em hot and you gotta keep 'em clean (this may mean a short dryhop near the starting line at some dirty tracks.) And of course, having a good hooking track is imperative.
I pull consistant low 1.6s with stock gears, stock suspension, at full weight with this internally stock engined '02. I used to pull low 1.5s (1.51 being the best in only 1-2 trips to the track) in my 422 powered '00. I think 1.4s were well possible. Nittos are awesome if you know how to work 'em.

Well the track I'm talking about is Rivercity down here in San Antonio. The track is dirty as hell and I have never been able to hook even after a long smokey burnout. I guess I'll start doing a small, dry wheel spin to clean them after my burnout.
