TH350 Dipstick
TH350 Dipstick Ive got a deep pan dip stick in a Th350 that doesnt have a deep pan(minor oversight during purchase
).
Is there a way to be sure there is enough fluid in it without looking at the dipstick? Can I just replace the dipstick without having to replace the dipstick housing?

I'd like to see them chime in because I'm using a deep pan and I found no dip stick made specifically for it, just a regular one. You want your level to stay the same with a deep pan, there is just more lube in the pan is all.
There is not going to be any difference in the length of the dipstick. If it is a stock pan Th-350 it should have about 7 quarts of fluid in it including the converter. Deep pans hold about 8 quarts if that helps any.

I filled up passed the marks thinking this stick was too long. Seems to shift and run good, not puking any fluid so I guess I will just leave it there.

Verdad Gallardo I'll double check it today, its hard to say because as I was putting fluid in it the first time, I forgot to put the kick down cable in and it dumped probably most of what I put in it seemed (huge mess on the garage floor). From there I added probably another 4 qts. I might be a quart high, but when I get home I will take it around the block and see where its at.
The length on the inside of the trans is always the same. The length of the tube and stick on the outside can drastically vary, meaning no matter how long the stick and tube assemblies are as a matched set, they will always register properly. Our shop uses the BTE locking dipstick and gold irrited tube with the boot seal. Perfectly acurate and no leaks. Part # 323850, for your knowledge.
PS, Quicksilver, a stock 350 with converter holds 10.25 quarts-deep pan about 12 quarts. 13+ with a cooler. 11.5-12.5 with 3500-4000 stall and cooler, for your knowledge.
