Default What is the perfect converter for me?

Here's a challenge for you. Tell me what is the perfect converter for me.

Truck pictured below weighs over 6000lbs, makes over 500rwhp(soon to be 700 I hope), is my daily driver, is 4wd, and will be run at the track in 4wd.

my primary concern is drivability. I do not tow/haul anything.

I currently have a Yank SC3000. The trans is being rebuilt starting Monday. I'm either gonna have the Yank inspected/freshened up, OR I'm gonna get a new converter.

Opinions please

add power. At some point you'll need a larger conveter with that much wieght pushing that much power. Yank and precision make great units but I think they only offer 9.5 inch units in billet covers with lockup. You'll need a custom converter. they may make them. Circle-d also a sponsor here could be up to the task. With a roots I would expect the bloer to peak out somewhat early so a big high stall converter isn;t a nessicity. Stick with a 3k if the truck gets off good.

With that power level and weight, I would suggest an 11". They typically stall about 2800 - 3000 in a car. But with your weight it will go a little higher, probably 3200-3400. I can use a full size billet front and big 12" piston as well to hold the power. Call me for more info, 713-895-8834

The SC 3000 is an 11" design with the HD clutch and can hold the power level you are in need of.
call me on Monday at 775 826 9955 so we can review

ordered up a brand new Yank SC3000. Due to time constraints I couldn't send my old one in to be freshened up. Thank you Dave for working with me. Big props to Yank for customer service.

I have the worst luck. Got the new SC3000 on Friday. My trans guy called me all pissed off on Monday because it doesn't fit. Turns out the "SC3000" I had was not indeed a true SC3000. It was a 13" converter custom made for a guy on pt.net who had the same setup as mine, 6.0L/4L80e with the flat style flexplate. The new one is 11" and uses the dome style flexplate(i'm told).

Wow was that a confusing conversation with Yank. lol. They both say SC3000 on them. Thanks to Mike and Dave for figuring out the problem and helping us come up with a solution. Again, thumbs up on customer service.

of course it doesn't fit. Of course the transmission guy needs it out of his yard by tomorrow at the latest because he's leaving for vacation.
