Default desperate now! Help!!!!!

ok guys. im gettin desperated and very pissed at this car now. I installed a trans go shift kit CORRECTLY TO THE TEE with the instructions and the car will not shift into 2nd. I talked to trans go and they call this a unique problem, they swear that I assembled the 1-2 shift valve upgrade wrong. I pulled the valve body, checked it, and it was correct, but found that the valve they gave me will never open cause the lobe is bigger then the old one. So I put the original valve back in. Still no 1-2 shift. Car remains in 1st gear no matter what now. So, any of you tranny guru's out there, PLEASE HELP!!!

also, for the record, I check every other upgrade to the valve body while I had it out and they are all installed correctly. Ive done burned through a case of tranny fluid to do this, so Id love to have some help before I take it to a tranny shop.

ok, got a code this time, p0786 i think, its labeled "shift solenoid b performance or stuck open" Now I double checked to make sure all connections were connected before I put the pan back on, so if one came off imma shoot myself, but otherwise what could else be wrong?

Bubby of mine got that code and it was just the solenoid came unplugged. The no shift also sounds like something is not plugged in.

Did you take a real close look at the spacer plate and mating surfaces. Are you certain the plate was positioned correctly and wasn't damaged?
Did you modify the 2-4 band or servo assembly?

the spacer plate and mating surfaces are mounted just like I took them off and werent damaged. I modified the 2-4 band servo according to the instructions, I might not have it shimed right, but would that keep me from shifting out of 1st gear?

It would have to be grossly mis-shimmed to keep you from shifting. However, if a seal, locating pin, or piston was damaged, not installed correctly or not installed at all, then this may be your problem. I'd take another look at the 2-4 assembly.

First things first, the transgo instructions are crap. They are not layed out in any logical order-steps just thrown all over the page. Now, in the kit I recieved/installed recently there was a fork in the road with the 2-4 servo- which depending on what number series was on yours would determine which spring, (mine, red or white) you would replace (on mine green) on the 1-2 solenoid. I am looking in my Helms now and I can't find that "P0786," code? I know you have taken that pan/ valve body down twice now. One really important thing transgo left out in their instructions is when you reinstall the VB, Vol 3 of 3 Helms Sec. Edition page 7-283, gives a Notice: "Torque valve body bolts in a spiral pattern starting from the center(Pressure Switch). If the bolts are torqued at random, valve bores may be distorted and inhibit valve operation." (97 in. lbs) My main problem with the "destructions, & video," is they mislead you into thinking that "Anyone can accomplish this kit with normal tools," - "I," consider a calibrated torque wrench "Normal," when it comes to 4l60e maintenance, yet they don't show/ list torque specs on anything. I would think that they would have a better reputation and you would read about a lot less horror stories if Transgo would just revise their instructions. Just my .02, I know some people are just naturals and don't even need to look at the instructions.
