Re: desperate now! Help!!!!!
First things first, the transgo instructions are crap. They are not layed out in any logical order-steps just thrown all over the page. Now, in the kit I recieved/installed recently there was a fork in the road with the 2-4 servo- which depending on what number series was on yours would determine which spring, (mine, red or white) you would replace (on mine green) on the 1-2 solenoid. I am looking in my Helms now and I can't find that "P0786," code? I know you have taken that pan/ valve body down twice now. One really important thing transgo left out in their instructions is when you reinstall the VB, Vol 3 of 3 Helms Sec. Edition page 7-283, gives a Notice: "Torque valve body bolts in a spiral pattern starting from the center(Pressure Switch). If the bolts are torqued at random, valve bores may be distorted and inhibit valve operation." (97 in. lbs) My main problem with the "destructions, & video," is they mislead you into thinking that "Anyone can accomplish this kit with normal tools," - "I," consider a calibrated torque wrench "Normal," when it comes to 4l60e maintenance, yet they don't show/ list torque specs on anything. I would think that they would have a better reputation and you would read about a lot less horror stories if Transgo would just revise their instructions. Just my .02, I know some people are just naturals and don't even need to look at the instructions.
