Default People that have installed tranny coolers, IN HERE.

Ok, i'm expecting to get the B&M 24,000GVW Supercooler within the next 2 days. I took a look under my car and noticed, i believe are the 2 lines coming from the transmission connected to the factory radiator and going back to the transmission. The lines are the half centimeter wide lines that are held together with clamps once they come off the radiator. Also the lines that i'm talkin about seemed to be threaded into the radiator.

Now to install the B&M Supercooler i'll mount it on the aluminum radiator/condenser right? Then to use the existing factory cooler with the new Supercooler i'll connect the line coming from the transmission to the inlet of the supercooler. Then run the line coming from the outlet of the Supercooler to the inlet of the existing factory cooler. Then finally run the line coming off the outlet of the factory cooler back to the transmission.

Just wondering if this is correct since i will do this on my own. Also just a quick question what affect does it have on running the the supercooler right in front of the radiator/condenser? One more thing, the only line i'm gonna have to undo is the line coming from the transmission and then connecting that to the supercooler, right? Thanks for reading the long post.

Here you go bro'. http://www.fbody.com/tech/details.cgi?id=31 This is a web site that I looked at befor I installed mine, just last week. The only thing that I didn't do that this guy did was I ran my lines around the right side of the radiator/condenser. I didn't feel like drilling two holes through my air dam. The install is pretty easy, have fun.

Hey Warren, does this bypass the stock cooler or does it use it in conjunction with the supercooler?

I would/ did go in "series," with the puny factor cooler under the logic that the PCM gets the temp reading for the trans fluid from the radiator. The more cooled surface area the better. Right in front of the rad probably gets the most fresh cooling via the air dam- Do you have your fans set to come on earlier than stock? Just for when you are stuck in traffic?

No, i don't have any tunning done at all right now. Probably will when i get my TC installed. What good would that do to program the fans to come on earlier? I thought those only dealt with the engine coolant, or does it deal with both the trans cooler and engine coolant?

You will love your TC, its a big diffents. Also go buy a manual fan control switch. The tranny cooler works in conjuction with your stock cooler.

The order you have is listed is right. Usually, people decide to route the lines in this order...trans, factory cooler, aftermarket cooler, trans. You should only have to mess with one of the factory lines.

Got bored when I installed mine and used 35% silver solder to solder the two brass fittings together. That focker is never going to leak.
I don't like the way my hoses ended up- I think I need longer hoses to route them properly and put the junction away from the other hoses. I routed mine around the radiator too, I just wrapped them both in silicone hose anywhere they might touch metal. I was worried that running them under the car could expose them to animal damage. I'm still finding raccoon hair underneath my car.

How is every one routing the lines. I ran mine around the right side of the radiator. It looked pretty clean!!!

Routed mine to the side last year, no problems. Turning the fans on earlier will move air thru the transcooler, and subsequently the radiator, keeping the trans fluid cooler. Yes, it should be hooked up to the rad, and then cooler.
