The trans. shop that i went to said they could basically bullet proof it for $1700 for everything. I don't know what kind of warranty that would be though. There is also a shop that specializes in race engines and transmissions that I may talk to. If I bought one from a sponsor, I am going to have to have it professionally installed too. It just seems like a huge cost either way, but a rebuild will definately be cheaper. I may just wait till I have enough for a new built trans. thanks for still giving input.

If you read the auto forums here just for a week or two you will see post after post about people that took their trannies to their local transmission shop to have it "bullet proofed" and I would say 80-90% of the time they are posting about it because there is something wrong with the tranny only after a few thousand miles on the transmission. I am not saying all shops are bad but just do your research first and really make sure they know what they are doing so you don't throw $1700 down the drain. Good luck with whatever you decide.

just find some more places and do your homework, ask other locals if they have found any decent places around there..also take your tranny out yourself and bring it into the place that right there will save you 200 or 300 dollars. ill go ahead and tell you what i got mine done, the shop charged me 800 bucks to so call (bullet proof)it, which is a hell of a deal, and others on here can say well he really didnt bullet proof it, and he did a shitass job, but i dont care what others think... ive had it on the track now probably 20 passes runs awesome shifts great, and have a good warranty, the guy showed me all the parts he was gonna put in it and it came out he was a local drag racer, and he told that he really liked building trannys, he wasnt just totally in it for the money which was great... so just do your research and maybe you will get lucky like me.
