Question 2-3 A4 Shift Lag

I'm looking for advise on what to change in LS1edit to get rid of or at least reduce lag between 2-3 shift at WOT. I logged 3 runs and 2-3 shifts are at 5900ish and 73mph, right where they are set. But I have a 2-3sec lag till it actually engages. It doesn't hit the rev limiter. I've read alot on here but still haven't found the answer. So any help would be appreciated.

You could increase the pressure during that shift but the fact is due to hydraulics it does take longer to make the 2-3 then the 1-2 shift. The 1-2 shift fluid is only directed to apply the second servo , But on the 2-3 shift fluid is being used to not only apply the 3-4 clutch set but to release the 2-4 band at the same time , So more places for fluid to fill during the apply. Probably the best solution to this is not in tuning at all but in a shift kit of some sort

what about shift time tables? dont know if it will help but maybe lower the area you are reffering to down some digits and maybe up 10-15 line press increase.

the stock 2-3 shift time for my car was .575 seconds. doesn't help that it was a dead spot and it felt like forever... after i increased the shift pressure at wot for that shift by 7-10 ft. lbs. and set the shift time for .1 seconds, it felt great.

2-3 second lag time is an exaggeration... right?

If you go a FMVB would this over come the issue or does it apply regardless of shift type?

If theres a mechanical problem no it would not but even so hydraulics take a moment to work weather shifted manually or electronically its takes a given amount of time from actual command to shift for the fluid to fill all the chambers apply the 3-4 clutch and release the 2-4 band

I agree. How many miles are on the trans? If there is too much clearance between the frictions, the timing between the 2-4 band release and 3-4 clutch apply will cause a delay. Changing tables may help, but inevitably you may burn the band and or frictions in time. The trans must be tight and a reprogram kit should be installed THEN program the computer. The reprogram kit has parts to increase load capacity, quicker timing, and accumulator adjustments that keep the trans working properly for a long time while having FUN!! Hope this helps.

The box is being built but if a FMVB won't make a difference to this trait of the 4L60E then auto would probably be better.

Can the l2-3 lag be sorted with a shift kit or is it impossible to get rid of?

The builder says he has some fluid release and apply mods to eliminate the lag but if full manual makes it better I'll get that done too.

I played with shift timing and it shifts fine now, Went to track and dropped another 10th to 12.70@111. So all is good with shifting now. Thanks guys for all the advice. (Plus it only had lag at WOT LOL) Now just need to adjust fuel timing.... hitting 19 + milliseconds and 95+ on injectors. I shouldn't be maxed out yet on a N/A motor. Need to learn how to to that now
Again thanks.....
