Stock shift points? What are the stock shift points? '98 SS A4! Just bought a HPP3 and no instruction manual, the guy said it was "complete" when I ordered it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> Just would like to be able to figure the math when I'm figuring the shift points/rev limiter. I have set the rev limiter at 6300. Need to know stock shift points so I can figure my max speed for new shift points. <img border="0" alt="[USA]" title="" src="graemlins/patriot.gif" />

Re: Stock shift points? They're set for 6000 rpm, but the computer uses mph to shift so you need to account for your gear ratio and torque converter slip, which is roughly 3 - 5%.
Some cars are pretty far off from the factory so adjusting them really helps. Try adding 1 mph to the 1-2 and 2 mph to the 2-3 as a start. Going higher will depend upon your mods (e.g. headers, etc.) and whether your valvetrain is stock.
