Default transgo installation

the video and written have nothing to do with each other at all. i am told to follow the written. does this mean where it strays from the vid? or do i completely ignore the vid altogether?

one thing i want to ask specifically:
on page 4, step 3, it instructs to do something w/ plate hole sizes and has different instructions for "custom high stall converter or race only"
(a=.093 b=.082 vs a=.101 b=.093)

should i follow the regular size or the custom high stall or race only size? my car is a daily driver that has never been to the track, but it does have a 3400 2.0, which i consider kind of a low aftermarket stall. but they might consider 3400 "high stall" since it is "custom"

which one should i go with?
anyone have experience with this?

call transgo to make sure. You are increasing the line pressure to 1,2,3,4 gears with the drilling they are talking about.

i dont have time to **** around
going back and forth to the damn VCR inside the damn house all day.
can i just discard the video
and use ONLY the written?

will that work?

oh yeah, i called them,
and they said to go with the bigger diameter drilled holes. they think 3400 is "high stall". how crappy. wait till i get a 3800 2.55
oh yeah. hows that for daily driver

Yes go with the written, and larger drill bit sizes due to your converter stall. Been building trany's for 15 years.

I like two. You might want to start getting to know your local trans guy!

I used all three. 3500 stall with 2.73 gears...I wanted to firm that sucker up.

I know what you're saying...that video will screw you up more than help. And the instructions and sequence of operations are nothing like the video.

Eventually I pitched the vid and went the written. Just make sure to sketch the assemblies before you take 'em apart and triple check your work- you don't wanna go through it again.
