Default servos

thoughts about the different servos for our tranny's: the stock, corvette, and billet. i was gonna get the billet and a trans-go, and i read that u have to adjust tension. anybody do this? if so, how hard is it? thanks for imput

You mean the amount of stroke in the servo before it engages the drum? The correct way to do this is choose one of the three "selective" servo pins GM makes. Basically three slightly different length pins with one of them being ideal for your setup. I'm not sure these are available over the counter. However, I think transgo has a solution using washers, and Fairbanks (billet servo guys) provides a "cap" for the pin that you grind down to bring this "band play" into spec.

There is a tool to check the pin lenght with. It is about $200. The billet servos should be direct replacements. The tool is used to check pin lenght when you replace the band. If you just change servos then the you will not need to check pin lenght, just follow the directions with the servos.
