Default Al vs steel pans?

is there any benefit of one over the other? how much lighter is the Al pans? i realize the steel may dent instead of crack so that may be an advantage...

i think i am going to go with an aftermarket pan just for the drain plug. i know i could put one in but you can get some pans for a pretty decent price.

I like the aluminum pan for the heavy flange and the drain plug. I hate leaks, and the cast aluminum pan is a slam dunk.

The aluminum pan will be heavier than the stock stamped steel . The advantage of added fluid and also added strength to the case with a cast aluminum pan is worth the $$$$$$ .

aluminum adds strength to the case but weighs more.

Get a good Aluminium pan. It transfers heat much better than stock, not to mention increased capacity and a drain plug.

i don't really want a pan that hangs lower. Thus, i was going to go with a stock sized pan. if i could find a +1 quart i would consider. i don't want to go with 2 or 3 quarts larger. i don't have a problem going with aluminum if it is better.
