A4 pull question??? PLease help

A4 pull question??? PLease help ok i have a 99 Trans Am.... GU2 so i have a 2.73 rear-end. my sweet punch is right around a 40 roll so in drive i slamm it and it downs into 1st and i get a real nice pull......all my friends are telling me to get a 3.73 gear swap cause it will pull so much harder....but i also heard if i do that it wont downshift it 1st anymore.....will the new gear give me the same pull from 2nd or how does that work? ( from a 40 punch)

if not, GET THAT FIRST!
by far the best mod for an A4...I would do that before I get gears, and see how the car feels after that.....

Re: A4 pull question??? PLease help You are right the car will no longer have a strong 40mph kick down, but at 20mph HOLD ON!!!
I have had a 4.10 and currently have a 3.42. SuperZ28 in right get the torque converter first then decide on the gears... Victor
