Default how many of you bracket/drag racers...

..have your trans "gone thru" each year as a preventative maintenance measure (it's an expense) or do you just wait for something to break?
Thanks

its not a bad idea to put in new clutches and steels...also a good time to inspect for unusual wear

I just had a high-end PG built for my application. Even though I may only put a limited number of passes on it this year, i'll have it freshenup up annually

HI guys,
I agree it is good to take it out and check it over every year if you are consistly racing. If you are an amatuer or occasional racer I wouldn't deem it nessesary unless your pushing a lot of torque through the trans. Also, like I said, it kinda depends on how many runs your putting through it each year. I run a non electric 700R4 in my car, and each shift down the track is at 7000rpm. (1-2 2-3). I would avg. 6-7 runs per night/per week, times 10weeks maybe more, I don't remember. I have 1 1/2 seasons on a complete rebuild (non stock but nothing too crazy) It is out of the car now, because I am putting in a T56 and nolonger racing this car. I will reclutch the 700 and put it in my next race car, that is all it needs. <--- After that season I would also install I new band.
So it is all up to you...this is just what my opinion is.
