What is the stock stall?
What is the stock stall? I was wondering this because when I "Power Brake" the tires don't spin till something like 2800-3000rpm. The car doesn't seem to accelerate till something like 1600-1800rpm. Is it possible that my car has a torque cnverter, I bought it used, and it is somehow faster then a M6 SS with headers, y-pipe, Borla, and lid.( HE CAN DRIVE TOO ) Someone said I may have a TC, and I said to myself, it is posible I have a 2000-2800 stall converter, but don't know. Anything all knowing LS1tech.com-ers!

Re: What is the stock stall? Sounds like an aftermarket converter to me. The true stall of a stock converter is only like 1900 RPM and you would not be able to footstall to that RPM in 1st gear.
Here's a test for you. Put the car in 2nd gear. Hold the brake all the way to the floor. Mash the throttle to the floor. Observe the tach. Your tires won't spin because you're in 2nd gear. BEWARE '98-'99 owners!!! You do not have 2nd gear start so if you try this, the tires will spin and/or the car will move!

Re: What is the stock stall? OK, I did it, the car stays at 1800-1900rpm. Then when I release the brake, the car get to a slow slow slow acceleration. Why is that, I though that stalling the car makes it faster? Hence you get off the line quicker.
