got the shakes in reverse usually happens on a cold start, it has only happened twice. I reverse and all of a sudden the car shakes and it feels like it has not caught the gear and then I put in drive an it does the same thing for just like 5 - 10 seconds and then it drives normally. Its due for a tran fluid change. i don't know what it is, I heard it might be because there is a delay when you shift to reverse and I should wait a few seconds.
First check fluid level slow engagement and slipping only cold is a common symptom of low fluid level

That’s exactly how mine acted, and I ignored it. I ended up having to have my entire transmission rebuilt because I burnt it up from no fluid. Save yourself a lot of money and change the fluid once a year.
